The EU soon intends to sign two far-reaching trade agreements: one with Canada (CETA = Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement) and one with the USA (TTIP = Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership). The official line is that this will create jobs and increase economic growth. However, the beneficiaries of these agreements are not in fact citizens, but big corporations:

Social networks are an ECI’s best allies. If the campaign does not take off on social networks, it will never take off at all. To increase a campaign’s virality, we are designing the “donation for social-reach” feature. Through it, a user can donate to an ECI, and we will then transform this donation into a sponsored publication on Facebook for the ECI. This feature can dramatically leverage the number of signatories. Why? First of all, sponsoring a publication on Facebook allows for a very precise target of different segments of supporters (country, interest, age, etc.). The conversion rate, thanks to sponsored publication, is very high.
