"Dunked makes creating your online & mobile portfolio website super simple. Showcase your design, illustration, video and photography work on any device."
Robin Good's insight:
If you are looking for a free tool that allows you to easily create a visual portfolio of images and/or video clips, organized into categories, Dunked offers an excellent solution.
Simple, elegant and very straightforward to use, Dunked makes it easy to upload one or more pictures at a time and to arrange them on your portfolio page and into separate collections called Projects.
You can customize background, colors for all the elements on a page, fonts, logo and you can add a personalized About and Contact page.
My comments: Excellent visual portoflio tool for photographers, designers and artists of any kind. Compared to having an image or video collection on Pinterest, the difference is that the presentation style is much more elegant, and images are viewed by default at a much larger size. You also have fine control on individual text style, colors and other design elements. The absence of a bookmarklet further indicates that this tool has been designed with the photographer/artist/painter in mind and not to collect stuff found on the web.
Great infographic resume designs from around the world.
Robin Good's insight:
If you are planning to create a visual CV for yourself soon, do not waste your time trying out the many cool alternative tools that are available out there to create one, like Easel.ly, LinkedIN Resume Builder, Vizify, Infogr.am and several others.
In my view, even if you use a fancy visualization tool, what makes the most difference is having a unique visual "idea" to support the presentation of your credentials.
This is why I suggest that, if you have the fancy and skills to create your own visual CV, there is no better resource for inspiration that I know of, than this huge Pinterest collection by Randy Krum.
It is invaluable. Worth even a paid print edition. 9/10
Use the Resume Builder to turn your LinkedIn Profile into a beautiful resume. Pick a resume template, customize the content, and print and share the result to your heart's content.
Robin Good's insight:
The new LinkedIN Resume Builder is a great web app which allows anyone with a LinkedIN account to create a professional-looking resume by selecting from a number of ready-made templates.
The new app taps into your LinkedIN account info to extract and categorize all of your profile info, while leaving you with the option to edit and modify any of the data that will appear in the final resume and any of the pre-set fields that will displayed.
There are about a dozen different templates to choose from, and my first impression is that they all look quite good.
Your new final resume can be directly shared with others on all major social media and via a direct URL, and can be also saved and exported as a PDF.
I find Resume Builder from LinkedIN to be an excellent tool to create an always-up-to-date and professional-looking CV / resume in a matter of seconds.
P.S.: There may be some "pagination" issues as you will see when you export to PDF, but these can be circumnavigated easily. I am sure there will be improvements in future updates.
Enthuse is a web-based app which allows authors, freelancers, professionals and artists to create a personal reference page, kind of a personal media-kit dedicated at bringing together in one place all of the links to your best work and references.
Robin Good: A great collection of visual resumes, often in the style of an infographic. If you are looking for inspiration on how to style and assemble your next one, this is a must stop gallery to check.
Robin Good: Excellent PBS video illustrating through the faces and voices of several brand designers the history and role of logo design. From prehistorical times until today logo design has been always an activity characterized by the need to communicate easily and effectively what a person or an organization is about and (in some cases) the character and the traits its stands for (think of aristocratic or noble shields).
"Utilizing a silent vocabulary of colors, shapes, and typography, logo designers give a visual identity to companies and organizations of all types."
"Logo designers need to have a sense of what the company wants his personality to be, and then it "manufactures" this mask... and the logo is essentualy a mask, an identifier, that stands in for who you are"
Robin Good: If you want to have professional looking email signature, there is an alternative service to WiseStamp, that you may like to check out if you are using a Windows PC.
Sigwich has created a very simple and intuitive web interface which allows you to create and edit a professionally-looking signature in a number of minutes with no effort at all. Just fill in a few fields, pick the social networks to display, upload a photo and you are ready to roll.

- Six different signature layouts
- Each layout is customizable
- Live preview - As you add the features you want you can see exactly what your signature will look like, instantly.
"Once you are happy with your email signature click save and download your customized file to your computer and install it. Now when you open up your Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo mail, AOL or Hotmail, you will get your signature automatically inserted into your emails."

From the original article by Merry Richter: "Your brand is the sum total of your reputation, both personal and professional.
It’s a representation of your skills, character, trustworthiness, dedication, honesty, work ethic, appearance, and personality.
Basically every aspect of yourself that employers, co-workers, friends and family care about…everything that makes you YOU."
Robin Good: But the issue is, how can you take control, steer and direct your personal activities online so that they contribute to build up a "brand" that reflects your key strength and abilities?
"It’s scary to realize that some portion of your brand is being determined and communicated by other people, but in the age of hyper-social sharing, commenting and endorsing on the sites we all know and love, that’s exactly what’s happening.
So now, more than ever, it’s essential to take control of your brand. Write your own story before someone else writes it for you.
The first aspect of this is fairly obvious: live up to your own hype.
Deliver on the promises (implied and otherwise) that you’ve made..."
